Ali Koç's 'If you have the guts' challenge to Dursun Özbek

Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç invited the president of the Yellow-Reds to a live broadcast via social media, stating, "If you have the guts, of course."

WHAT DID DURSUN ÖZBEK SAY

Responding to Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç's statements, Özbek said, "I did not watch the last board meeting, but what the person who is supposed to be the Fenerbahçe Club President said was reflected in the press.

Therefore, it reached me as well. Of course, it is not a pleasant way of expressing oneself. I interpret it this way. The person who is supposed to be the Fenerbahçe president is the grandson of Vehbi Koç.

This person is also a well-educated member of the Koç family. For Turkey, the Koç family is an important family. He has received a good education both abroad and domestically, and has received very important training. He has a good business life. He belongs to a very wealthy family," he said.

"NOT EVEN THE PKK AND FETÖ COULD DIVIDE US"

Galatasaray Club President Dursun Özbek included the following statements in his remarks reacting to Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç;

So why does such a person try to bring division, polarization, and mutual hostility to Turkish football? 75 percent of Turkey consists of Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe fans. Whether they are interested in football or not, or follow it or not, this is a fact.

The words that come out of our mouths reach these people. It affects these people. These people have expectations from our expressions.

So why are such discourses that encourage polarization, division as Galatasaray or Fenerbahçe fans, and mutual hostility made? I thought about it a lot.

"In this sense, I had thought about this before as well. I had an expression, and I think it is very realistic. Now, given its geographical location and demographic structure, Turkey has separatist uprisings through the PKK, trying to divide it into Turks and Kurds. We have enemies who occasionally stir things up by calling it Alevi and Sunni. We experienced an uprising on July 15th, whether they were FETÖ members or not.

While Turkey has such troubles, why does a person do this by making Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe enemies of each other, even calling people to the streets, and even using expressions like 'slap them where you see them' or 'take their photo where you see them'?

That person also claims to love Turkey, to have an Atatürkist identity, and to have high ethical values. Well, brother, if you have these values, why are you taking such an attitude? Criticize the presidency, criticize the club, and use unspeakable expressions for Galatasaray. Two things come to my mind. First, those who cannot stomach Turkey and are enemies have various forms of behavior to divide Turkey.

I wonder, is someone like this a project? Neither the PKK nor FETÖ could divide Turkey. I mean, no one could divide it. It is a very dangerous form of behavior. Therefore, I advise that person (Ali Koç) as follows: Give this up. Turkey needs peace, unity, and solidarity."
