Ali Koç's candidacy decision at Fenerbahçe
Despite all the calls for candidacy directed at former president Ali Koç ahead of the upcoming extraordinary general assembly at Fenerbahçe, Koç has decided not to participate in the election.
As the extraordinary elective general assembly to be held on June 7 at Fenerbahçe Sports Club approaches, activity within the community has reached its peak. In particular, serious pressure has been placed on the club's former president, Ali Koç, by some fan groups and prominent figures of the club to run for president again.
In the messages conveyed to Koç, the phrases "Fenerbahçe needs a unifying force like you again during these difficult days" stood out. Following these developments, Aziz Yıldırım's announcement of his presidential candidacy caused eyes to turn to Koç once again.
Although the idea of running again was discussed in his evaluations with board members, it has been finalized that Ali Koç has made his ultimate decision and will not be a candidate. Thus, Koç will not take part in Fenerbahçe's election race this time.
