Almeria is about to make history! But in reverse...
Sitting at the bottom of LaLiga with 10 points, Almeria will break the record for the "team with the fewest points in LaLiga history," currently held by Sporting Gijon with 13 points in the 1997/98 season, if they fail to earn at least 4 more points in the remaining 10 weeks.
In Spain's top-tier football league, LaLiga, the Almeria team has yet to secure a win this season and sits at the bottom of the table with only 10 points.
If Almeria cannot earn at least 4 more points in the remaining 10 weeks, they will face the danger of becoming the team with the lowest point total in LaLiga history. Currently, Sporting Gijon holds this unwanted record, having collected only 13 points in the 1997/98 season.
According to a report by NtvSpor, Almeria's opponent this week will be Las Palmas, and this match holds critical importance for Almeria. The team is recording its worst performance since the 1995/96 season and is 14 points away from safety above the relegation zone.
Other teams with the fewest points in LaLiga history include Cordoba Club de Futbol (20 points in the 2014/15 season), Granada (20 points in the 2016/17 season), and Malaga (20 points in the 2017/18 season).
