Alperen Şengün and Tarık Biberovic left out of Turkish National Team's Iceland squad
Alperen Şengün and Tarık Biberovic are not included in the 12-man roster of the Turkish Men's National Basketball Team, which will be the guest of Iceland in the World Cup Qualifiers.
The Turkish Men's National Basketball Team has announced its match roster as it prepares to face Iceland away in the FIBA 2027 Basketball World Cup Qualifiers Group J. It was noted that Alperen Şengün and Tarık Biberovic were not included in the 12-man list announced by the Turkish Basketball Federation.
The Crescent-Stars will take the court in Reykjavik following their 94-66 victory against Lithuania. Ercan Osmani, who was injured in the Lithuania match, is also not in the squad announced before the game; the player has been removed from the preliminary roster.
NEITHER PLAYER IS ON THE 12-MAN LIST
Alperen Şengün, who plays for the Houston Rockets, was not only absent from the 12-man roster for the Iceland match but was also not included in the 17-man preliminary squad for the Lithuania and Iceland matches announced on August 13. No official statement regarding an injury or suspension was made by the TBF or the national team coaching staff regarding Alperen's exclusion from the August window. It is believed that the player is not in the squad due to his pre-NBA season preparation program.

Tarık Biberovic was also not included in the match roster for the Iceland game. While names such as Cedi Osman, Adem Bona, Ömer Faruk Yurtseven, Furkan Korkmaz, and Sertaç Şanlı were in the announced preliminary list, Tarık Biberovic's name was not. The national basketball player had bid farewell to Fenerbahçe on August 24 following his transfer to the NBA team Dallas Mavericks.

The 12-man roster of the National Team against Iceland includes Adem Bona, Cedi Osman, Erkan Yılmaz, Furkan Korkmaz, Kenan Sipahi, Malachi Flynn, Metecan Birsen, Onuralp Bitim, Ömer Faruk Yurtseven, Sertaç Şanlı, Şehmus Hazer, and Yiğitcan Saybir.
