Anadolu Efes beats Olympiacos by a wide margin at home

With this result, the navy-and-white team secured their 13th victory in the competition, while Olympiacos suffered their 12th defeat.

Starting the match effectively, Anadolu Efes went on a 9-0 run before the second minute was even completed, thanks to consecutive three-pointers from Pleiss. The navy-and-white team finished the first quarter leading 26-21, having hit 6 shots from behind the three-point line against an Olympiacos side that was scoring from the paint. 

Olympiacos, effective at the start of the second quarter with points from Wright, narrowed the gap to 1 point in the 13th minute: 28-27. Regaining control with baskets from players coming off the bench and extending the lead to double digits in the 18th minute (43-33), Anadolu Efes went into the locker room with a 48-37 lead.

Playing with a high shooting percentage in the third quarter and finding critical baskets from the perimeter, Olympiacos narrowed the gap to 1 point in the 29th minute: 62-61. Recovering in the remaining time and scoring consecutive points, Anadolu Efes entered the final quarter leading 66-61.

In the fourth quarter, backed by the support of their fans, Anadolu Efes extended the lead and finished the match with an 85-72 victory, keeping their play-in hopes alive.

Olympiacos head coach Georgios Bartzokas was disqualified from the match with 4 seconds remaining due to walking toward the referee and protesting.
