Ankaragücü holds cooperation talks with Argentine giant

Ankaragücü, one of the 1st League teams, has entered into cooperation talks with River Plate, one of Argentina's deep-rooted clubs. It was stated that the yellow-navy team's press spokesperson Mehmet Şanal participated in the cooperation talks held with River Plate, one of the two biggest clubs in Argentina, and it was reported that River Plate Club Vice President Ignacio Villaruel and General Secretary Felipe Liorente were present at the meeting held at the River Plate Club's facilities.

In the meeting where inter-club structuring, organization, and training issues were discussed, it was stated that the inclusion of young football players in the player pool starting from next year was also discussed.

Stating that he was welcomed very warmly during the talks, Mehmet Şanal noted the following regarding the subject:

"Stating that our club continues its work in line with its short, medium, and long-term goals, we are researching what we can do to make our Ankaragücü a club that can sustain itself in terms of infrastructure and financial matters in the future. We are holding meetings with clubs that can serve as examples in these areas. At the same time, we want to be in cooperation. River Plate Club, which has trained 26 football players who have played in the World Cup and where more than five hundred football players are being trained in its youth academy, is a club that can be taken as an example in this sense. In our meetings, we also discussed what we can do so that young players raised in the River Plate Club academy can wear the Ankaragücü jersey in the future."

It was announced that Ignacio Villaruel, who stated that he has good relations with Turkish clubs, was also pleased with the visit, provided information about the club's activities, and stated that they would be happy to support MKE Ankaragücü in matters of structuring and training.
