A new development has been added to the events unfolding at the Central Referee Committee (MHK). According to a report by Umut Eken from Ajansspor, it has been learned that MHK VAR Coordinator Yaşar Kemal Uğurlu has resigned from his position.

Within the scope of the investigation known in the public eye as the "referees file" in Istanbul, numerous officials and former referees had provided statements as complainants and witnesses. It was reported that MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu, who was detained in an operation conducted as part of the investigation, as well as referees Yasin Kol and Göktuğ Hazar Erel, had been arrested.
It was stated that the arrested MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu had submitted his resignation to the Turkish Football Federation. Most recently, it was announced that 4th Region Representative Sebahattin Şahin had also resigned from the MHK.
Yaşar Kemal Uğurlu began his refereeing career in 2002. Having officiated in a total of 576 matches in professional leagues in Turkey until 2025, Uğurlu retired from active refereeing on February 5, 2025, and continued his duties as VAR Coordinator.
Following Uğurlu's retirement from refereeing, it was alleged that he made this decision due to the emergence of footage showing him gambling in Cyprus.
