In Antalyaspor, which will host Pendikspor at home on Monday in the Süper Lig, President Sinan Boztepe made statements regarding Alex de Souza, the legendary Fenerbahçe player whose name has been linked to the team in recent days as a replacement for head coach Sergen Yalçın, and Zymer Bytyqi, who terminated his contract citing unpaid wages.
Sinan Boztepe stated the following:
"We will have a meeting with Sergen Yalçın today. We have not reached a positive or negative decision with our coach. All these matters or final discussions depend on the decisions we will make together with coach Sergen. I think we will likely finalize our decision today. We had the first meeting today, and we will have a second one.
Now, along with Alex de Souza, there are 6-7 other names; a different name comes up every day. Of course, there is no question of us sitting down at any table with any of these people.
We value ethical standards. All of these are very important. The day we say together with coach Sergen, 'Okay, our mission at Antalyaspor Club is complete. We are not continuing our journey with our coach,' we will have our candidates.
Among these, names like Volkan Demirel, Tuncay Şanlı, Rıza Çalımbay, Alex de Souza, and a former Konyaspor coach have been mentioned.
Kenan Koçak, meaning many names are being mentioned. This will become clear in the coming period as a result of our decisions after talking with coach Sergen today. So, if we cannot reach an agreement with coach Sergen, just like all the other candidates, Alex de Souza is also one of our candidates..."
