Antalyaspor's Israeli players will not play in the match!
Antalyaspor's Israeli footballers Ramzi Safuri and Sagiv Jehezkel have announced that they will not play in the match against Gaziantep FK due to the moment of silence to be held for Palestine.
Antalyaspor's two Israeli footballers, Ramzi Safuri and Sagiv Jehezkel, have announced that they will not play in the match against Gaziantep FK.
The duo announced that they will not take part in the Gaziantep FK match due to the decision taken in the Süper Lig to hold a moment of silence for Palestine following the conflicts on the Israel-Palestine front.
The statement from Safuri and Jehezkel is as follows:
"The bad news coming from the country has made playing football an almost impossible task for us. The team respects our decision and gives us full support. We thank them for this.
In addition, we learned that a moment of silence will be held in tomorrow's (Saturday) match to condemn Israel. As players who are proud to be members of the national team, we have no intention of taking part in this ceremony, or even being in the stadium. We have clearly stated this to the club management, and they respect our decision. The attitude towards us here is very warm, and we will continue to be among those who will build new bridges in the beautiful days to come. Our hearts and thoughts are with our brothers and sisters in Israel."
Antalyaspor will be the guest of Gaziantep FK on Saturday at 16:00 in the 9th week of the Süper Lig.
