According to a report in Bild, the Dutch footballer has sued Mainz 05 for the unilateral termination of his contract.
The report states that legal proceedings have been officially initiated and the first hearing is scheduled for December 6.
El Ghazi was earning 2.5 million euros annually at the German club Mainz 05. If the 28-year-old footballer is found to be in the right, Mainz 05 will be required to pay him compensation.
