Atletico Madrid and PSG advance to Champions League semi-finals

The excitement of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second-leg matches continues. Atletico Madrid hosted Barcelona in the second match of the tie, having won the first leg 2-0.

Barcelona took the lead with a goal from Lamine Yamal in the 4th minute, and Fermin Lopez extended the lead to 2 in the 24th minute. Seven minutes after that goal, Lookman found the back of the net. The second half of the match, which ended 2-1 at halftime, was also played at a high tempo, and the Catalan side was reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute.

Eric Garcia received a red card for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity following his challenge on Sörloth. While both teams failed to capitalize on their chances in the remaining minutes, Diego Simeone's students advanced to the semi-finals. Barcelona, meanwhile, bid farewell to the Champions League.

In the night's other match, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain faced off at Anfield. While both teams could not convert their chances in the first half, Ousmane Dembele scored the goal that put PSG ahead in the 72nd minute. The 28-year-old forward scored the goal that extended the lead to 2 in stoppage time. Having also won the first leg of the tie 2-0, the French side managed to secure their ticket to the final four. Liverpool, under the management of Arne Slot, was eliminated in the Champions League quarter-finals.
