Austria secures 3 points with 3 goals against Poland

Austria was the side that started well in the match played at the Olympiastadion in Germany's capital, Berlin. Coming into the opponent's penalty area in numbers with a long throw-in routine, Austria found an early goal with the contribution of their defenders.

The Austrians took a 1-0 lead in the 9th minute with a goal from center-back Trauner, following an attack developed by left-back Mwene.

Meler was assisted by Mustafa Emre Eyisoy and Kerem Ersoy. The fourth official of the match was Rade Obrenovic from the Football Association of Slovenia.

In the match, Italian Paolo Valeri served as VAR, while Alper Ulusoy and Italian Massimiliano Irrati served as AVAR.

AUSTRIA GETS THEIR FIRST THREE POINTS

In the clash between two teams that lost their first matches, Austria was the side that added three points to their tally.

Austria, who lost 1-0 to France, and Poland, who lost 2-1 to the Netherlands, entered the second group match with a must-win mentality.

Defeating their opponent 3-1, Austria reached three points and kept their hopes alive for the round of 16. Poland, with no points, has made their chances of advancing from the group difficult.

The Austria-Netherlands and Poland-France matches will be played in the group on June 25.

TWO PLAYERS FROM THE SÜPER LİG FEATURED FOR POLAND

Two footballers playing in Turkey took the field in Poland's second match at EURO 2024.

Adam Buksa, who played on loan at Antalyaspor last season, and Krzysztof Piatek from Başakşehir started the match in the first 11. In the match where both players stayed on the field for 60 minutes, Piatek scored his team's goal.

Sebastian Szymanski from Fenerbahçe was among the substitutes for Poland.

LEWANDOWSKI STARTED ON THE BENCH AGAIN

The Polish national team's star striker Robert Lewandowski started the first two matches at EURO 2024 on the bench following an injury he sustained in the friendly match played against Turkey.

Lewandowski, the player with the most appearances and the most goals for the national team, did not play in the Netherlands match due to his injury. Lewandowski entered the game against Austria in the 60th minute.

Meanwhile, a moment of silence was held before the match for the late former UEFA General Secretary Gerhard Aigner.
