Awards from the TFF to Fenerbahçe, Bursaspor, and Fatih Tekke

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee has announced the February winners of the Fair Play and Social Responsibility Awards, which are presented to encourage and promote Fair Play and to raise awareness on the subject. Under the chairmanship of Mehmet Nuri Yazıcı, the committee—consisting of Prof. Dr. Sedefhan Oğuz, Attorney Kürşat Ahmet Ünal, Bilgehan Okumuş, Adnan Cevher, Ömer Üründül, Attorney Tarık Emre Ekşi, Prof. Dr. Burhanettin Hacıcaferoğlu, and Banu Yelkovan—determined the recipients of 4 different awards following their February evaluation.

Those deemed worthy of the Social Responsibility Award are as follows:

FENERBAHÇE CLUB

The TFF Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee decided to award the Social Responsibility Award to Fenerbahçe, which, with its "Hope for the Future" project, decided to allocate 1 percent of the salaries of players it signs to a special program that will contribute to the education, development, and future of disadvantaged children. With this approach, the club has shown that sports are not limited to success on the field and can create a much stronger impact when combined with a sense of social responsibility.

BURSASPOR CLUB

Bursaspor Club once again demonstrated that competition is made more beautiful by friendship by resolving the accommodation problem in Bursa for its opponent, Adanaspor, before their TFF 2nd League Red Group Week 22 match. The Bursaspor management, which offered unconditional support to a rival club going through a difficult process, represented the spirit of Fair Play at the highest level with this exemplary behavior that highlights solidarity, empathy, and the unifying power of sports.

FATİH TEKKE

Trabzonspor Manager Fatih Tekke was deemed worthy of the Social Responsibility Award for his remarks before the Turkcell Super Cup Semi-Final played between Galatasaray and Trabzonspor on Monday, January 5. By reminding everyone that football is a game and emphasizing the aspect of sports that brings people together and should be enjoyed, Tekke drew attention to the importance of respect and common sense in fan culture with the language he used and the message he gave. It was evaluated that his approach, which highlights the unifying power of sports beyond the competition on the field, sets an example in terms of Fair Play and social awareness.

CENGİZ YİĞİT (POLICE OFFICER)

The sensitivity shown by police officer Cengiz Yiğit, who was on duty at the TFF 3rd League Week 18 match between Malatya Yeşilyurt Sports Club and 12 Bingölspor at Malatya Stadium, by giving his own socks to a child whose feet were cold in the freezing weather, became one of the most beautiful examples of human values, sharing, and social responsibility awareness. This meaningful behavior once again revealed that sports are not just about competition on the field, but also integrate with conscience and compassion. Due to this exemplary behavior, Cengiz Yiğit was deemed worthy of the Social Responsibility Award.
