Aykut Kocaman defends Jose Mourinho: 'Fenerbahçe fans must not forget'
Aykut Kocaman, one of Fenerbahçe's legendary players and a former manager, has defended the yellow-navy team's current head coach, Jose Mourinho.
Former Fenerbahçe manager Aykut Kocaman stated that support should be given to Jose Mourinho at the yellow-navy club.
Speaking to the Playspor YouTube channel, here are Kocaman's remarks:
"I can understand fans of other teams using certain channels to make moves that would shorten Mourinho's tenure. As long as this competition does not 'turn ugly,' it is one of its phases."
'FENERBAHÇE FANS...'
"But especially Fenerbahçe fans, those who truly consider themselves Fenerbahçe supporters, must not forget that this is a process, that they have a very competent coach, and that this competent coach is moving forward with a step-by-step method, especially while heading toward the main goal."
'HE WILL CORRECT MISTAKES AS HE GOES'
"He will make mistakes, of course, but he will correct those mistakes as he goes. These people do not reach these levels for nothing. They are not error-free, just as none of us are."
'HE WILL MAKE A LOT OF MISTAKES'
"He has reached this point by going through various phases in his managerial career. Therefore, while getting to know the country and its football, and trying to understand its dynamics, he will make a lot of mistakes, but his true talent is proportional to how quickly he corrects these mistakes."
