Aziz Yıldırım had cancelled it: Verdict in Acun Ilıcalı's luxury box case at Fenerbahçe

A new development has occurred in the luxury box crisis between Acun Ilıcalı and Aziz Yıldırım, which has been a subject of debate at Fenerbahçe since the beginning of the season. In the lawsuit filed by Ilıcalı regarding his luxury box, for which his usage rights were terminated, the court ruled in favor of the former Fenerbahçe vice president.

The court ordered that the luxury box in question be returned to Ilıcalı. Furthermore, it issued an injunction preventing the box from being sold or transferred to third parties until the end of the 2026-2027 football season.

Following the decision, Ilıcalı regained the right to use his luxury box, while the transfer of the box to any other person or institution until the end of the season has been blocked.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Following Aziz Yıldırım's re-election as Fenerbahçe President at the extraordinary elective general assembly on June 6-7, 2026, regulations regarding the luxury boxes at the stadium were implemented. In this context, the contract for the luxury box used by Acun Ilıcalı, who served as vice president during the Ali Koç era, was cancelled.

The club had announced that the luxury box in the center section of the field would henceforth be used as the "Presidential Box." Ilıcalı, however, stated that the contract for his box, for which he had paid three years' rent in advance, was terminated without legal basis and took the matter to court.

Aziz Yıldırım had argued that the luxury box area did not belong to him personally and should be allocated for the use of future Fenerbahçe presidents.
