Babel speaks out about his former team: I was intentionally benched!

Ryan Babel, who parted ways with 1. Lig side Eyüpspor and is currently a free agent, has made flash statements to the Dutch press.

According to the report in Fanatik, the 37-year-old player, who continues to live in Istanbul, spoke about his days in Turkey and his future.

Here are Babel's statements:

"I don't know yet if I have retired from football. I'm still trying to figure that out. I don't have a team right now and I'm enjoying my free time. I still love football very much, and that's part of the problem."

Ryan Babel also spoke about the story of his departure from Eyüpspor, arguing that he was intentionally not played.

The 37-year-old Dutch footballer said, "We would travel three days before away games. You would be away from home for more than half a week. I find that mentally difficult."

I DID NOT ACCEPT THE COMPENSATION

I faced difficulties because I did not accept the compensation. Then I had to go to an away game, and they intentionally did not play me.

If this is done three or four times, you are psychologically finished. I find it hard to accept things like this and being away from my home and family for long periods every time," he said.

Continuing his statements, Babel said, "My intention was to stay in Istanbul, but there was no room for me at Istanbul clubs in the winter. And I didn't want to go to another city."

WILL HE RETURN TO THE NETHERLANDS?

Regarding the possibility of returning to the Netherlands, Babel concluded his words by saying, "If you can still be important somewhere, it strokes your ego. But for now, I've parked my ego for a while. We'll see."
