Backlash against Sadettin Saran: Debate over sponsorship revenues at Fenerbahçe
Fenerbahçe's decision to utilize future revenues from agreements with Chobani, Passolig, and Adidas in advance has become a subject of debate within the Yellow-Navy community.
The Fenerbahçe management has collected in advance 28 million Euros for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 periods resulting from the stadium naming rights sponsorship with Chobani, 476 million TL (approximately 12 million Euros) received upfront as the equivalent of a 5-year agreement from Passolig, and expected sponsorship revenues from Adidas.
This decision by the Sadettin Saran administration has drawn criticism because it was implemented ahead of the congress in May. The criticisms are intensifying around the concern that the room for maneuver for future administrations will be significantly restricted and that serious budget contractions may occur.
According to the report in Sözcü, the management states that the transaction arose from necessity, arguing that in the current high-interest environment, it is necessary to close short-term debts, meet urgent cash needs, and create resources for debt payments and transfers. However, persistent demands for transparency continue to come from the club's circles and fans.
