Fenerbahçe has released a statement regarding the medical condition of Fred, who was injured in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round match against Lugano.
The statement from the yellow-navy club indicated that the Brazilian footballer has been diagnosed with an injury to the medial collateral ligament of his right knee.
The statement read, "Our player Fred, who had to leave the game after receiving a blow during our Champions League second qualifying round match against Lugano, underwent an MRI scan at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital. Following the imaging, our player was diagnosed with a medial collateral ligament injury in his right knee, and his treatment has begun immediately."
HOW MANY WEEKS WILL HE BE SIDELINED?
Fred is expected to be sidelined for 3-4 weeks.
Consequently, the Brazilian footballer will be unable to play in the yellow-navy team's Champions League third qualifying round matches against Lille.
