Bad news from Nadal: Spanish star will not be at Monte Carlo

Rafael Nadal, the most successful player in Monte Carlo Masters history with 11 titles, stated in a post on his social media account: "Unfortunately, I have to tell you that I will not be playing in Monte Carlo. My body simply won't allow me. Even if I am working hard and trying my best every day with the excitement to play and compete again at tournaments that have been very important for me, the truth is that I cannot play in Monte Carlo."

The 37-year-old Nadal, who has 22 Grand Slam titles in his career, has only competed in the tournament in Brisbane this season.
