Benfica, featuring Kerem and Orkun, advances to the Round of 16

The third and final week matches were played in Group C of the FIFA Club World Cup, hosted by the United States (USA).

Portuguese side Benfica faced Bayern Munich, which had won its first two matches in the group. National team players Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Orkun Kökçü started on the bench. Benfica took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute of the match with a goal by Andreas Schjelderup. While the first half, which saw attacks from both sides, ended with this result, Orkun and Kerem entered the game in the 55th minute. Bayern could not convert the chances they created in the second half, and the match ended 1-0.

Leroy Sane, who will play for Galatasaray next season, remained on the pitch for 90 minutes. Sane was the player who created the most chances in the penalty area for Bayern in this match.

With this victory, Benfica increased its points to 7 and advanced to the Round of 16 as the group leader.

Bayern Munich suffered its first defeat in the tournament and advanced to the next round in second place with 6 points.
