Beşiktaş Club President Yücel addresses the community following the coaching change
Beşiktaş Club President Hüseyin Yücel announced that they have parted ways with Dutch head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst due to poor results and the failure to display the expected level of performance.
Hüseyin Yücel stated in a written announcement, "We took over the duty following the unexpected resignation of our President, Mr. Hasan Arat, which saddened us all. As the board of directors, we came together for the future of our club, showing that our Beşiktaş is not left without leadership.
Our first action was to part ways with our coach, Giovanni van Bronckhorst. He is a coach with a very distinguished career. However, both the poor results and the failure to display the expected level of performance pushed us to make this decision. I would like to thank him and his team for their efforts. We are entrusting our Football A Team to our coach Serdar Topraktepe on an interim basis. I wish him and his team success."
Emphasizing that the board of directors is at the helm, Yücel remarked, "There is, of course, much to be said regarding the process we are experiencing. However, at this moment, everyone needs to pull themselves together. Because what is at stake is not individuals, but the glorious Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club. No one is above Beşiktaş. Our community should rest assured. Resigning and leaving would have been the easiest option. Beşiktaş has financial and moral obligations. We are always here and will continue to be here. We will carry our club into the future with our heads held high. As I said in my speech at the financial congress, I would sacrifice my life for Beşiktaş. Let no one have any doubt about this."
Expressing his full faith in the teams across all branches, Hüseyin Yücel noted the following:
"Nothing has been lost. From now on, the only thing that should be discussed is Beşiktaş. Anything else will harm our club, which is sacred to us all. All structures within our club will continue their work in a more organized and successful manner. Beşiktaş is above individuals. We will leave one day. However, the community and the fans will always be here.
Unfortunately, Beşiktaş does not deserve the situation it is currently in. We have put not just our hands, but our entire selves under the burden. Our request from our fans and our community is to support us and stand by us as we carry our Beşiktaş to the place it deserves. Personal arguments will be of no benefit to Beşiktaş. Our unity and solidarity are our greatest strength. If today is the worst day, then today is also Beşiktaş. Only Beşiktaş."
