Beşiktaş elects its new president: Hüseyin Yücel and Serdal Adalı compete!

The day of the election has arrived at Beşiktaş, which decided to hold an extraordinary elective general assembly following the resignation of Hasan Arat.

The Black-and-White club will elect its new president today. Voting has begun in the election where Hüseyin Yücel and Serdal Adalı are competing.

Approximately 29,000 members are eligible to vote at the general assembly held at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall.

Voting has begun at 25 ballot boxes to determine the board of directors that will manage the Black-and-White club until May 2025.

The voting process will continue until 17:00.

General assembly members will use blue ballots printed for Yücel and white ballots for Adalı.

AHMET NUR ÇEBİ CAST HIS VOTE

Former president Ahmet Nur Çebi also came to the hall to cast his vote.

As Çebi headed to the area where he would vote, he was applauded by one group and whistled at by another.

Çebi, who cast his vote at ballot box number 3, did not make any statement.

In his statement, Hüseyin Yücel wished the congress to be auspicious for Beşiktaş and said, "Our general assembly members have shown great interest. Even though we are on the eve of the New Year, we had concerns that participation would be low. Today, we see that we might even set a new record. We invite our general assembly members to vote if they have no obstacles. After the ballot boxes are opened, I hope it will be for the best for our Beşiktaş. Whether I am elected or Serdal Adalı is elected, we are in an election where the winner will be Beşiktaş."

SERDAL ADALI MADE THE FIRST SPEECH

Serdal Adalı made the first speech at the general assembly.

Adalı said, "I am happy to be in your presence in the second century of our Republic and the 121st year of our community. I am a candidate for this high office during my club's most difficult time. We are gathered here today as a result of what the departing Beşiktaş president himself described as an uprising against him. Our Beşiktaş has been burdened with 100 million euros of debt in a way never seen in its history.

All the income that will enter its treasury over the next three years has been wasted. Those who associate Beşiktaş's name with a trustee have no place here. You have become a board of directors that brought Beşiktaş's name together with fake signatures and commissions. As long as we are here, Beşiktaş will never experience such days again. No one will be able to make such sentences about Beşiktaş."

Adalı continued his words as follows:

"Let what I say here today be a note in history. No one will deceive you again. Before you will be a president who sleeps and wakes up with Beşiktaş. How will a candidate who created this dire picture during his second term as vice president lead our Beşiktaş? How will he fight against the structures that have been exploiting our Beşiktaş's rights for years? Beşiktaş fans will not be deceived again. We will bring our community together again. We will regain the lost environment of trust. We will return to successful days. The transfers we make will be with sponsorship support and not a single penny will come out of our treasury. A world-class football mind in scouting is waiting for us to start our duty. My friends and I will pay the 50 million euro payment due until May with our own resources. With your favor, we will start our duty tomorrow.

It is the duty of all of us to lift our Beşiktaş back up together. You cannot fix the situation we are in today with those who created it. I have full faith that you will not choose those who caused these days for Beşiktaş and who announced that they would not acquit themselves. It is clear to whom you should give this sacred duty. If I am not elected today, I am appearing before you for the last time. I am also saddened that what I said a year ago turned out to be true. We saw that their visions were actually illusions. I believe that we will carry Beşiktaş to better days together."

HÜSEYİN YÜCEL TO SERDAL ADALI: WHY ARE YOU SMEARING?

Hüseyin Yücel, who took the podium after Serdal Adalı, stated the following:

"I am a Beşiktaş fan from my father. I neither wanted to be vice president nor did I chase any other position or rank. They called me a continuation of the past, a traitor, a coup plotter. I kept a lot inside, I didn't respond. Put your hand on your conscience, did I deserve these words? I did nothing but love Beşiktaş. Of course, I have made mistakes, but I have never done a single wrong thing to Beşiktaş, and I cannot. General assembly members, what kind of president do you want? Do you want someone who asks a Beşiktaş President 'who are you', or someone who invites all Beşiktaş presidents to the same table? I did not chase after the Beşiktaş crest to show off. I never tried to create a perception.

I created an income ecosystem. I fought for 86.8 million Euros to enter Beşiktaş's treasury. Even if this strong picture is a dream for some, it is a reality for me. What kind of logic is it to block this sincere unity that will bring income to Beşiktaş? Mr. Adalı, my dear brother, why are you smearing, why are you chasing after creating a perception, why are you spending time on this? Since you have so much time, you do better, and we will applaud you.

In 15 days, we met with 6 names, including one of our former presidents, and received a promise of over 12 million Euros. I believe we will complete this money to 45 million Euros. Beşiktaş will exit the Banks Association without carrying the interest burden."
