Beşiktaş loses on the road, the final matchup is set

In the ING Women's Turkish Cup basketball semi-final, ÇBK Mersin defeated Beşiktaş 87-84 in overtime to become the second team to advance to the final, joining Fenerbahçe.

Starting the game quickly, Beşiktaş finished the first period with a 19-16 lead thanks to points from Nogic and Evans.

In the second quarter, which began with baskets from both sides, Beşiktaş continued its strong play, finding points from set plays with Li and Nogic, and finished the half leading 39-33.

The Mersin team started the third period with high pressure, taking a 2-point lead with 3 minutes and 42 seconds remaining following a basket by Mabrey. Continuing its effective play under the basket and maintaining the scoring advantage, ÇBK Mersin entered the final quarter with a 61-59 lead.

In a competitive final quarter, Mersin was effective with Williams, Mabrey, and Kiss, while Beşiktaş stayed in the game through Li and Nogic. The match went to overtime after the score was tied at 76-76 with 4 seconds remaining.

In the overtime period, Beşiktaş responded to the interior play of Mersin's Williams and Mabrey with points from Evans and Melek Uzunoğlu. Taking an 86-84 lead with 37 seconds left thanks to a three-pointer by Sinem Ataş, Mersin extended the lead to 87-84 after Mabrey converted one of her free throws.

Mersin maintained the score in the final seconds after Beşiktaş player Evans failed to convert her shot, securing the victory and advancing to the final.

The Mersin team will face Fenerbahçe in the final.
