Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat announces number of upcoming transfers

Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat, who is following the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, answered questions from an AA reporter.

Stating that they took office during a difficult period at Beşiktaş and faced major problems, Arat said, "However, despite experiencing all these problems and having a very difficult season, winning two trophies and earning the right to participate in European competitions are good things."

Reminding that they started the new season with a Turkcell Super Cup championship, Arat said, "In the Super Cup, we achieved a result against our arch-rival that will greatly boost the morale of our community with our new signings. But all of that is over now. I mean, the trophies have been placed in the museum. Our match will start on Sunday. Together with the league and European cup matches, Beşiktaş will march toward a new goal," he stated.

"WE HAVE A PLAN FOR NEARLY THREE ADDITIONS"

Hasan Arat expressed that they are trying to complete the deficiencies in their squad and continued his words as follows:

"As you know, we have a quota of 14 foreign players and one blue card. We already have our blue card athlete. Bahtiyar is Kazakh. For us to drop to 14 players, quite a few players need to leave. Our main struggle right now has been to arrange the contracts of the players who need to leave, find them clubs, or tell them this openly. As soon as we are in a position to register licenses, we have a plan for nearly three additions. Those additions are almost ready, I can say. I can say that the situation of the players leaving and arriving will happen simultaneously. The names are more or less clear. I mean, our coach and our entire staff have determined this. We have preparations with alternatives."

Reminding that their 17-year-old player Mustafa Hekimoğlu scored in the Super Cup match, Arat said, "This is not a surprise for us. I mean, we were always saying that such an athlete was coming. There are 5-6 players from the youth academy in the A-team squad; there is no example of this in Turkey. It is also very rare in Europe. Coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst has a great desire to play with young players and he can integrate them very well according to their age groups."

Hasan Arat stated that they have captured a good atmosphere with their new head coach and players, and continued his words as follows:

"Our community is very motivated. This is a marathon, let's not forget that. We will experience ups and downs in this marathon. We need to stand very firm during these ups and downs. Our athletes and our community must not lose their morale. I want to ask my entire community from here to always stand by our athletes and our technical staff, in good times and bad. Achieving success in Europe is a very important goal. I mean, there is a coach at Beşiktaş right now who has played in a final in Europe. Hopefully, our team will provide that excitement in the European cups as well."
