Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı makes statements on Sergen Yalçın and the presidency

In his statement, Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı said, "Whoever wants to be president, let them come forward. Do not stir up the community and engage in politics behind the scenes. Beşiktaş is not a career stepping stone for anyone. I will support a presidential candidate who does not have personal expectations," he stated.

"I HAVE REACHED THIS POINT WITH MY HONOR, MY PRIDE, AND IN A COMPLETELY CLEAN MANNER"

Starting his words by saying, "I appear before you today with sadness, but at the same time with pride," Serdal Adalı spoke as follows:

“The energy of a massive community like Beşiktaş is being wasted in recent days by baseless allegations organized by a few people. For 15 years, whether I have been in the administration or not, I have never been able to give up my love for Beşiktaş. The responsibility of this seat is heavy; I am here to carry that responsibility, not to run away from it. I have reached this point with my honor, my pride, and in a completely clean manner, and I have no intention of getting tainted from this point on. The thing I have put the most effort into in my life is Beşiktaş. Therefore, let no one take offense; I will not allow anyone to cast a shadow over this effort. But I speak with pride, because despite all the difficulties in this ten-month period, we have done work worthy of Beşiktaş."

"TODAY I WILL EXPLAIN THE TRUTH BEHIND THIS 20-DAY DISCHARGE TALE"

Touching upon what happened at the Ordinary Administrative and Financial General Assembly Meeting, Adalı said, "Today, I will explain the truth behind this '20-day discharge tale' here."

Summarizing the events at the Financial General Assembly Meeting, President Adalı said, "At the congress, first the activity report, audit report, and financial statements were read. In fact, our administration's period up to May 11, 2025, was also acquitted by a majority. However, when it came to the voting for that short 20-day period between May 11 and May 31, 2025, things suddenly got chaotic. The real controversy was created over this 20-day period. I received my mandate on May 13. In other words, that 20-day period in question was already the first days of my second term in office. But during that process, no board decision was taken, no contract was signed, and no expenditure was made. Still, they get up today and try to create a perception by showing these 20 days as if they were a period in their own right," he said.

"I THINK THE MATTER HAS NOW BEEN TAKEN TO THE JUDICIARY"

Stating that the Audit Board, the Advisory Board, and the congress council consist of lawyers and legal professionals, and that it is impossible for any illegality to be committed in such an environment in front of everyone's eyes, Adalı said, "I think the matter has now been taken to the judiciary. This was the only missing file we had in the judiciary; let us experience this disgrace as well, it does not matter. We have no reservations about anyone or anything. Those who serve Beşiktaş have a clear conscience, and we will carry out this process with our heads held high," he stated.

"THIS TIME THE WORK WAS EVEN MORE PLANNED"

Saying that what happened in the hall at the financial general assembly on November 2 was organized, Adalı said, "But this is not something new; this community has seen these mobilized crowds, block votes, pre-arranged applause, and the 'signals' allegedly received from Süleyman Seba many times before. This time, the work was even more planned: social media campaigns that started days in advance, coordinated posts, hashtags rising at the same time, everything was staged in advance," he said.

"THE TARGET IS NOT BEŞIKTAŞ, BUT BEŞIKTAŞ'S RESOURCES"

President Serdal Adalı continued his words as follows:

“The goal is to take Beşiktaş to an election again and disrupt stability. They want to prevent Beşiktaş from achieving economic freedom and make the club dependent on their own interests. They have their eyes on the real estate projects we have developed. They are after the shares we have brought to our Beşiktaş during the capital increase process, for which they have created all kinds of perceptions. The goal is not the growth of Beşiktaş; the goal is to control whose hands Beşiktaş's resources will be in. In other words, the target is not Beşiktaş, but Beşiktaş's resources. But we will not allow this. I say it clearly: whoever wants to be president, let them come forward and explain their vision. But do not engage in politics by stirring up the community, with slander, and manipulation from behind the scenes. Beşiktaş is not a career stepping stone for anyone.

We came here to serve, not to fight."

"NO ONE IS UNTOUCHABLE AT BEŞIKTAŞ"

Continuing his words by saying, "We have now brought Beşiktaş to a transparent, accountable, and corporate structure," Adalı said, "The era of 'I did it, so it happened' is over.

The era of 'Whatever is in Beşiktaş's interest, that happens' has begun. They are even describing those controversial 20 days as if they were a huge period... Okay, let's look at that. What did I do in those 20 days? Did I sell the club? Let's look at what we have done in the last 10 months. We made the largest debt payment in the club's history in a single instance, amounting to 1.4 billion TL. In addition, we made a total payment of 9.3 billion TL, including past obligations. We started the corporate structure reform. Now every process is recorded, and every decision is traceable. No one is 'untouchable' at Beşiktaş," he said.

"OUR COACH IS ALSO AT THE HEAD OF HIS DUTY"

Announcing the decisions they took at the Board of Directors meeting, President Adalı stated that Coach Sergen is at the head of his duty and concluded his words with the following statements:

“I would also like to share a decision with you. We have implemented a Football Committee that includes our Vice President Murat Kılıç, our other Vice President Kaan Kasacı, and our Football AŞ member Melih Aydoğdu.
