Betting scandal erupted: First team to be relegated has been determined
The PFDK has relegated Yeni Malatyaspor, which competes in the 2nd League Red Group, due to a betting scandal. The Malatya representative has been demoted to the 3rd League.
A major penalty has been handed down in Turkish football due to a betting scandal. The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) has relegated Yeni Malatyaspor, which competes in the Nesine 2nd League Red Group. The decision to relegate the club to the 3rd League due to the scandal has caused shockwaves in the club and the football community.
FAILED TO APPEAR FOR A MATCH FOR THE SECOND TIME
Yeni Malatyaspor committed a major disciplinary violation by failing to appear for the match against Granny's Waffles Kırklarelispor, which was scheduled to be played on December 13, 2025.
This meant that the club had failed to appear for matches for the second time in the same season. Consequently, the PFDK declared the Malatya representative to have lost 3-0 and decided to relegate the club.
PFDK'S STATEMENT
According to the statement made by the TFF, the penalty imposed due to Yeni Malatyaspor's failure to play the match in question resulted in the club's relegation to the 3rd League. Furthermore, in accordance with this decision, other teams will be declared winners by default in their matches against Yeni Malatyaspor following that date without having to play the games.
