A notable development has occurred regarding Tarfin Tarım A.Ş., the naming and jersey chest sponsor of the Fenerbahçe Men's and Women's Basketball Teams. It was reported to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that the company was unable to make principal and coupon payments for some of its maturing financing bonds.
In the announcement by the Central Securities Depository (MKK) on KAP, it was stated that the redemption and coupon payments dated October 21, 2026, for the private sector debt instruments issued by Tarfin Tarım with ISIN codes TRFTTRME2618 and TRFTTRME2626 could not be executed through the institution because the issuer did not transfer the payment amount.

It was reported that the total principal of the two financing bonds in question is 250 million TL, and the total payment obligation, including interest, has reached approximately 277.4 million TL.
SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED IN SEPTEMBER
Fenerbahçe announced in a statement on August 18 that Tarfin was the new naming and jersey chest sponsor for its men's and women's basketball teams. The agreement was made official with a ceremony held on September 15.
Ali Emre Ballı, one of the co-founders and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tarfin, was found dead inside a vehicle in Çekmeköy, Istanbul, on October 6, 2026. According to the statement by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the incident occurred in the Sırapınar neighborhood of Çekmeköy; teams were dispatched to the area following a report of an unresponsive person in a parked vehicle on a vacant lot.
The investigation determined that the deceased person was Ali Emre Ballı. It was also reported that following Ballı's passing and the resignation of a board member, the company's four-member board of directors lost its decision-making quorum.
There has been no official statement from Fenerbahçe regarding the matter yet. Uncertainty continues regarding how the sponsorship agreement and the sponsor name on the basketball teams' jerseys will be affected.
