Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers 133-128 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals playoff series, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

In a game that went to overtime following a three-pointer by Jaylen Brown, Boston performed better in the extra period and managed to secure the victory with critical shots from Jayson Tatum.

While Tatum led the team with 36 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals, Brown contributed to the win with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals; Jrue Holiday with 28 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals; Derrick White with 15 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals; and Al Horford with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

In the loss, Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers, who had seven players score in double digits, with 25 points, 10 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Myles Turner played with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks, while Pascal Siakam finished the game with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists; Aaron Nesmith with 14 points and 6 rebounds; Andrew Nembhard with 12 points; Obi Toppin with 15 points; and TJ McConnell with 13 points and 4 assists.

Game 2 of the series will be played again at TD Garden on Thursday night.
