All eyes in Turkish football are on the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) presidential election on July 18.

With only days left until the election, TFF presidential candidate Servet Yardımcı had announced yesterday that he was withdrawing from the race.

In his statement, Yardımcı had said, "Following my announcement of candidacy for the TFF presidency, the conspiracy initiated by the known dirty structure to ensure the continuation of the current system is targeting me, my family, my honor, my dignity, and my reputation in a way that will never align with the history and morality of the Yardımcı family from Rize and the people who set out on this path with me, through lies, slanders, and conspiracies."

Following Yardımcı's withdrawal from the candidacy, the race was expected to be between the current president Mehmet Büyükekşi and presidential candidate İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu.

STATEMENT FROM TFF REGARDING THE ELECTIONS

The TFF has published a statement regarding the election on July 18.

3 CANDIDATES FOR TFF PRESIDENCY

Stating that the presidential candidacy period has ended, the TFF announced that 3 individuals have been accepted as presidential candidates.

According to the TFF's statement, the candidacies of İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, Mehmet Büyükekşi, and Servet Yardımcı, who announced his withdrawal from the race yesterday, have been accepted.

The full statement from the TFF is as follows:

"Candidacy applications for the presidential election to be held at the Turkish Football Federation's Ordinary Financial and Elective General Assembly on July 18, 2024, ended on July 11, 2024, in accordance with Article 38 of the TFF Statutes.

As a result of the applications made to the TFF General Secretariat within the specified period for TFF Presidential Candidacy, and with the authority to evaluate the qualification requirements and application documents specified in the 2nd paragraph of Article 38 of the TFF Statutes belonging to the General Assembly Board, the individuals who applied to the TFF General Secretariat to be presidential candidates at the general assembly are listed below in alphabetical order;

- Mr. İbrahim Ethem HACIOSMANOĞLU

- Mr. Mehmet BÜYÜKEKŞİ

- Mr. Servet YARDIMCI

Other candidacy applications made to the TFF General Secretariat were not accepted as they did not meet the conditions regarding Presidential Candidacy specified in Article 38/1 of the TFF Statutes.
