The exodus at Fenerbahçe Sports Club continues. Erol Bilecik, the Deputy Chairman of Fenerbahçe who has been on President Ali Koç's board of directors since 2018, has resigned.

Announcing his resignation in a lengthy statement on his X account, Bilecik stated the following:

"To the Great Fenerbahçe Community,

Due to the smear campaigns targeting our club through myself and my family in recent times, I had announced to the public my decision not to be a candidate for the Board of Directors in the extraordinary congress in September. This decision was intended to focus on the responsibilities I carry in line with our goal of institutionalization and sustainable growth for our Fenerbahçe.

Unfortunately, I observe that the attacks directed at me during this process continue to occupy our club's agenda. I sincerely believe that before the new season, our Fenerbahçe should focus solely on its goals of unity and success.

For this reason, I respectfully submit to the public's information that I have decided to resign from my position as a member of the Board of Directors of Fenerbahçe Sports Club as of today.

Valuable Fenerbahçe fans,

Throughout the years of service we have left behind, we have worked with determination to establish transparency, oversight, and institutionalization in our management policy, primarily to reduce our club's debt burden and restore its financial structure, and to bring our club to a solid foundation.

And today, I state with great peace of mind that our club's financial debt burden has now reached a sustainable level. In the very near future, our President, Mr. Ali Koç, will give our community the good news of the days when we will achieve our financial independence. Rest assured, this is not just a financial success; it is a rebirth move for our club.

I wish that the efforts made for everyone could be crowned in every sense. But we know that some struggles wait for their time; and some services grow silently.

One of the greatest honors I have carried throughout my life was to be able to serve our Fenerbahçe. I sincerely thank everyone who trusted us, supported us, always made their good intentions felt, and conveyed their criticisms with sincerity. I seek the understanding of everyone whose heart I may have broken unknowingly or unintentionally during this seven-year process.

On this occasion, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the members of the Board of Directors, especially our President Mr. Ali Koç, with whom I am very proud to have served, our club employees, and the great Fenerbahçe Community.
