British press: Aston Villa wants to sign Semih Kılıçsoy

The British press has reported that Aston Villa, one of the leading teams in English football, will make an offer to sign Beşiktaş's young forward Semih Kılıçsoy during the winter transfer window.

According to the report, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has been a 'long-term admirer' of Kılıçsoy and has identified the Turkish player as a priority target to strengthen his attacking options.

According to a report by Football Insider, Aston Villa has taken action to sign the Turkish player. The English club is expected to make an official offer to Beşiktaş in the coming days to add Kılıçsoy to their squad.

The Insider report did not include details of the offer Aston Villa intends to make to Beşiktaş. 

The Turkish press had previously reported that Villa made an offer of around 15 million Euros to Beşiktaş for Kılıçsoy during last summer's transfer window.

The young player, who is comfortable using both feet, was also included in the national team's 'Euro 2024' squad last year. Kılıçsoy only managed to get playing time in the final minutes of the quarter-final match where Turkey was eliminated from the tournament. 

Kılıçsoy, who signed a new 4-year contract with Beşiktaş 12 months ago, has played in both center-forward and wing positions over the past year.

Aston Villa plans to add the Turkish player to an attacking line that already includes Ollie Watkins, J. Duran, and new signing Donyell Malen.

The Midlands side currently sits in eighth place in the Premier League table. Villa also has the chance to continue its journey in the Champions League.

WHO IS SEMİH KILIÇSOY?

19-year-old Semih Kılıçsoy, who began playing for Beşiktaş at the age of 17 and can play anywhere across the front line, is considered by international player evaluation agencies as one of Europe's top young talents.

The young player, who has been a regular for Beşiktaş in the 2024-25 season, has made a total of 28 appearances across all competitions so far.

Kılıçsoy has recorded 2 goals and 6 assists in these matches, starting 16 of them. The young forward, who is a product of the Beşiktaş youth academy, scored 12 goals in 30 matches last season when his team won the Turkish Cup and the Super Cup.
