National archer Mete Gazoz reached the podium at the first stage of the 2026 Archery World Cup. Competing in the event held in the city of Puebla, Mexico, Gazoz won the bronze medal in the individual recurve category.
Facing Taiwanese archer Chih-Chun Tang in the semifinals, the national athlete was defeated and moved to the third-place match. In the bronze medal match, Gazoz faced Matias Grande from the host country, defeating his opponent with a score of 7-3 to finish the event in third place.
Turkey concluded the Mexico leg of the Archery World Cup with a total of 3 silver and 2 bronze medals.
