Bülent Uygun: 'We will welcome Beşiktaş with love'

EMS Yapı Sivasspor, which will face Beşiktaş at home on Sunday, January 28, in the 23rd week of the Trendyol Super League, has begun preparations for the match.

According to the statement from the club, the training session was held at the club's facilities under the management of head coach Bülent Uygun.

After warm-up exercises, the players worked on passing and completed the training with a half-pitch scrimmage.

In addition to new signing Dorde Nikolic, Hakan Arslan, who has recovered from his injury, and Alaaddin Okumuş, who has overcome a flu infection, also trained with the team.

In his statement, Bülent Uygun noted that they would play a difficult match against Beşiktaş, saying, "We will welcome Beşiktaş in somewhat cold weather, but with the love in our hearts. It will be a difficult match. They are also having a difficult season. An enjoyable, pleasant, and tough battle awaits us."

Providing information about transfer efforts, Uygun said, "We transferred Dorde Nikolic to provide an alternative to goalkeeper Ali Şaşal Vural and to take precautions against potential injuries within our planning. I watched nearly 350 matches. I identified 6 players who fit our game system and budget. Our transfer committee and board of directors are continuing negotiations regarding them. If there are no setbacks, we will bring them here to Sivas and have them sign with the team within a week or 10 days."

Reacting to the intense fixture schedule, as they are playing matches without much rest, Uygun continued:

"Match scheduling needs to be done more professionally in a place with such intense weather conditions. Because our players are getting injured. As a matter of fact, 5 players are currently experiencing muscle-related injuries. We have to think about the health of the players as well. You play a match every 3 days, you are away, then 3 days later you play at home, you go to the match without any training. No player anywhere in the world can handle this. We are trying to handle it."

Uygun added that they expect support from the fans in the Beşiktaş match.
