Burak Yılmaz: May the referee be well
Kayserispor Manager Burak Yılmaz said, "We are here for Kayserispor. We do not want Kayserispor's rights to be violated, but may the referee be well. He did this to us today, but let him not do it to someone else tomorrow so that Turkish football can improve."
In the rescheduled match of the 3rd week of the Trendyol Super League, Trabzonspor drew 2-2 with visiting Kayserispor. Speaking to reporters after the match, Kayserispor Manager Burak Yılmaz stated that it was a great game, saying, "May God be pleased with all of my players. They played incredibly.
Today, they took their hearts from Kayseri and laid them on the pitch in Trabzon. I thank them all very much. They are very valuable to me. Today, they are the winners of the match. They are the winners of the match in their own hearts and in mine; they are my players. We have a separate plan for every match.
We knew that with the arrival of coach Şenol, Trabzonspor and the city of Trabzon would catch a very great atmosphere. We worked accordingly. And we worked very correctly. They did everything right," he said.
Saying "May the referee be well," Yılmaz added, "Why should he be well? Because he is a child of Turkey. He made a mistake, may he be well. Today to us, tomorrow to someone else. He must be unhappy too, but it doesn't matter.
We are here for Kayserispor. We do not want Kayserispor's rights to be violated, but may the referee be well. He did this to us today, but let him not do it to someone else tomorrow so that Turkish football can improve. We have no hard feelings at all," he said.
"IT IS ŞENOL GÜNEŞ AND TRABZONSPOR THAT MADE ME WHO I AM"
Expressing that he loves the Trabzonspor club very much, Yılmaz said, "I have never done anything wrong to this club. I love this club very much. Believe it or not. I have eaten its bread. It is Trabzonspor that made me who I am. It is Şenol Güneş and Trabzonspor that made me who I am and brought me back to Turkish football. Neither I nor those in Trabzon can deny this. I know that they love me, even if they curse at me in secret.
I love this place too. But I have to do everything to protect the rights of Kayserispor. This is what suits me, both on and off the pitch. They taught us this here as well. I wish success to Trabzonspor. May God clear their path. I wish success to my coach Şenol. But I would like to say a few things about ourselves and Kayserispor. We have a transfer ban.
We have been playing with the same team for about 4 years. Before coming here today, I was missing my first 3, 11 players. Today, 3 more of my players were missing. 6, maybe 7 of my players will not be in the Göztepe match. But we are trying to stay on our feet and fight under these conditions, with God's permission.
We are in very difficult conditions. But we are not looking for excuses. We are trying to build a team like ourselves, like our own character, like our own humanity, whatever we saw from our fathers, whatever we received here. I would like to thank the Kayserispor community, my president, and the management very much. We may have made mistakes today. If I made a mistake, I apologize," he said.
