Busenaz Çakıroğlu guarantees a medal
National boxer Busenaz Çakıroğlu has advanced to the women's semifinals, guaranteeing a medal.
In the women's 50kg boxing competition at the Paris 2024 Olympics, national athlete Busenaz Çakıroğlu faced off against Finland's Pıhla Kaıvo-oja and defeated her opponent to secure her place in the semifinals.

Who is Buse Naz Çakıroğlu?
An Olympic silver medalist boxer and 2022 World Champion athlete.
Busenaz Çakıroğlu was born in Trabzon. She began her sports career there before moving to the Fenerbahçe Club. She won a gold medal at the 2017 European Boxing Union Championships, and subsequently reached the final of the 2018 European Senior Championships. She secured the gold she missed in that championship one year later at the European Championships in Alcobendas.
Having secured her Olympic qualification early, Çakıroğlu won three consecutive matches in Tokyo to reach the final. She lost the silver medal match 5-0 by referee decision to her Bulgarian opponent Stefka Krasteva, who was 11 years her senior and a two-time European champion.
A year later, she won the World Boxing Championship title in her weight class in Istanbul. She has also won two European Games gold medals.
