Çağlar Söyüncü signs with Fenerbahçe

Fenerbahçe, one of the Trendyol Super Lig teams, has announced that it has added national center-back Çağlar Söyüncü, who plays for Atletico Madrid, to its squad on loan until the end of the season.

In the statement made on the club's official website, it was stated, "Our club has reached an agreement with his club, Atletico Madrid, and the player himself for the loan transfer of defender Çağlar Söyüncü. The national player will wear our Fenerbahçe jersey until the end of the 2023-24 season."

Making a statement after the signing ceremony held at the stadium, Fenerbahçe's new transfer Çağlar Söyüncü stated that he felt happy and excited, saying, "I want to join the team as soon as possible and I want to do my best to help the team and my community. Both our club's and my own goals are to win championships and trophies. That is what drew me here. We have a great team. I am looking forward to joining them. This will also be my first experience in the Super Lig. I am especially excited about that."

The 27-year-old center-back, who grew up in the Altınordu youth academy and then transferred to Freiburg, signed with Premier League side Leicester City 2 seasons later, where he would play for 5 years.

After his contract with the English team expired, Çağlar had signed a 4-year deal with Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid at the beginning of the season.
