National racer Cem Bölükbaşı competed in the Le Mans European Series Championship. Bölükbaşı finished his own racing stint as the leader.
Competing in the Le Mans European Series (ELMS), which challenges drivers both physically and mentally, Bölükbaşı raced at the Paul Ricard circuit in France with the Luxembourg-based team DKR Engineering.
The national racer, who completed a total of 43 laps with a best lap time of 1:45.086, finished his stint in the lead.
Evaluating the race afterward, Bölükbaşı said, "I am happy on one hand, but it was also an unfortunate race. In the first 1.5 hours I raced, we managed to move from 22nd to 8th place in the general classification and rose to the top spot in our own class. However, we later lost our advantage due to a safety car that came out at the wrong time. We were only able to finish the race in 8th place in our class. We will continue to chase the podium and victory."
The next stage of the Le Mans European Series Championship will be held on July 7 at the Imola Circuit in Italy.
