Central Referee Board condemns attack on Halil Umut Meler: We condemn it!
The Central Referee Board (MHK) has condemned the attack on referee Halil Umut Meler by Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca.
ISTANBUL (AA) - The Central Referee Board (MHK) has issued a condemnation message regarding the attack on referee Halil Umut Meler following the MKE Ankaragücü-Çaykur Rizespor match played in the 15th week of the Süper Lig.
The message, published on the Turkish Football Federation's website, stated the following:
"We strongly condemn and denounce the attack on our highly valued referee Halil Umut Meler during the MKE Ankaragücü-Çaykur Rizespor match played at Ankara Eryaman Stadium. This attack was not only against our referees but also against Turkish football. As the Central Referee Board, we express that we stand by our referee until the end. We declare that we will closely follow the legal and administrative process and will pursue this matter to ensure that all those responsible for causing this incident are punished in the most severe manner."
