English side Manchester United defeated Azerbaijan's Sabah 4-0 at home with goals from Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes, Benjamin Sesko, and Lisandro Martinez.

German side Bayern Munich beat Norway's Bodo/Glimt 5-0 at home with goals from Jamal Musiala, Harry Kane, Alphonse Davies, and Michael Olise (2). Luras Björtuft of the visiting team was sent off with a red card.

Italy's Como won their home match against Germany's Leipzig 4-1 with goals from Martin Baturina, Anastasios Douvikas, Assane Diao, and Maximo Perrone. The visiting team's goal came from Andrija Maksimovic.

French side Lens defeated Fenerbahçe's opponents, Czech side Slavia Prague, 3-1 away from home despite falling behind twice, thanks to goals from Abdallah Dipo Sima, Florian Thauvin, and Ruben Aguilar. In the home team, where Mikulas Konecny received a red card, Danijel Sturm's goals were not enough for points.

Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 at home against Italian side Roma, with goals from Bryan Cristante and Archie Brown.

Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, managed by Arda Turan, drew 1-1 away against Dutch side PSV. Gleiker Mendoza scored for Shakhtar Donetsk, while Sergino Dest scored for PSV.

The second week of matches in the league will be played on October 13-14.
