German coach Christoph Daum, who previously served as manager for Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş, has made a statement regarding his health.

CANCER IS NO LONGER A DEATH SENTENCE
Speaking to the German press, Christoph Daum announced that he will undergo chemotherapy for the 29th time due to lung cancer. Remaining positive about his health, Daum said, "Science continues to change every day. That is why I can only encourage everyone: Stick with it. Cancer no longer has to be a death sentence!"
DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER IN 2011
Christoph Daum learned he had lung cancer in 2011. After receiving treatment for a long time, Daum announced to the public in 2022 that he had lung cancer. The 70-year-old football figure, who stated he will receive chemotherapy for the 29th time, is continuing his treatment process.
NO GIVING UP IN FOOTBALL OR IN ILLNESS
Last year, in a statement to Anadolu Agency, Daum compared his battle with cancer to a football match, saying, "I see my fight against cancer like a football match. When I was a manager, there were times we played two matches a week. The competitive spirit and determination from football have been my greatest source of motivation in my fight against cancer. There is a tough match right now, and I believe I will win it. There is no giving up in football or in this illness."
LED FENERBAHÇE AND BEŞİKTAŞ TO CHAMPIONSHIPS
Christoph Daum previously won championships as a manager at Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş. The German coach successfully led Fenerbahçe to the Süper Lig title in the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons. Daum won a league championship with Beşiktaş in the 1994-1995 season.
