Claims of 'cancellation' regarding Douglas Costa's transfer to Samsunspor
Brazilian star Douglas Costa, who was rumored to be joining Samsunspor, has reportedly backed out of the transfer.
Samsunspor was reportedly planning to add Brazilian footballer Douglas Costa to its squad, but it is now claimed that he has backed out of the transfer. Costa, who was said to have reached a principle agreement with the Süper Lig team Yılport Samsunspor, allegedly canceled the transfer at the last minute.
According to a report by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Costa, who had reached a verbal agreement with Samsunspor and passed his medical examination, changed his mind at the last minute and canceled the deal. The 33-year-old winger, who rose to prominence at Shakhtar Donetsk, previously played for Bayern Munich and Juventus before returning to his youth club, Gremio, in 2021.
Most recently playing for the US team Los Angeles Galaxy, Douglas Costa has been a free agent since last October.
