Clubs Association issues 'condemnation' statement: 'We condemn the regrettable attack'
The Union of Turkish Super Lig Professional Football Clubs published a condemnation message following the incident-filled Göztepe-Fenerbahçe match played yesterday.
The Clubs Association shared a 'condemnation' statement regarding the events that took place yesterday.
According to a report by Yağız Sabuncuoğlu from Sports Digitale; 16 clubs approved the condemnation message, while 3 clubs did not provide a response.
'WE INVITE EVERYONE TO COMMON SENSE'
The following statements were included in the announcement:
"As the Clubs Association Foundation, we condemn the regrettable attack carried out against Mr. President Ali Y. Koç during the Göztepe A.Ş. - Fenerbahçe A.Ş. match played in the second week of the Trendyol Super Lig, an act that cannot be attributed to the Göztepe fans and community. We expect the perpetrators to be brought to justice as soon as possible, and in these days when we need the unifying power of football more than ever, we invite all stakeholders to exercise common sense."
