Clubs had revolted: The era of an 'independent referee board' begins at the MHK!

Changes are being made at the MHK, which has changed presidents 10 times in the last 10 years.

According to a report by Umut Eken from Fanatik; the TFF and the clubs competing in professional leagues have united on the idea of creating an independent referee board. The project, inspired by the German model, has received approval from all the clubs, and it is planned that the independent referee board will have a say in referee appointments starting from next season.

THE BOARD WILL BE "INDEPENDENT"

The project agreed upon by the TFF and the clubs will be implemented as follows. 

The TFF will establish a company, and the professional clubs will establish another company. These two companies will form a new company with 5 members. 3 of the members will be determined by the TFF, and 2 by the clubs. This company, consisting of 5 members, will appoint the independent referee board.

CLUBS WILL HAVE A SAY IN REFEREE APPOINTMENTS 

The referee board, which will begin its operations on a professional basis, will have the authority for all kinds of appointments and sanctions regarding referees, including the determination of referee classifications. With this structure, the board will ensure that clubs have an absolute say in referee appointments.

GERMAN AND ENGLISH MODEL EXAMPLE

The independent referee board will be able to make decisions independent of the TFF and the clubs regarding the appointment of foreign center referees and VAR referees when necessary. It is commented that the model in this form is the same as the German model and shows similarities to the English model.

PRESENTATION TO BE HELD TODAY

Today, federation professionals led by TFF executive Mustafa Eröğüt will meet with club representatives to present the new system. It is planned to establish the independent referee board as soon as the leagues conclude.
