Collapse at Rangers ahead of Fenerbahçe match
Rangers, Fenerbahçe's opponent in the UEFA Europa League, suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership. The Scottish side, which has now lost 3 of its last 5 matches, is going through a poor run of form.
In the 29th week of the Scottish Premiership, Rangers hosted Motherwell at Ibrox Stadium. The home side disappointed their fans by leaving the pitch with a 2-1 defeat.
Motherwell's winning goals were scored by Luke Armstrong in the 9th minute and Tom Sparrow in the 30th minute, while Rangers' only goal came from Cyriel Dessers in the 54th minute.
For Rangers, national footballer Rıdvan Yılmaz started the match in the starting 11 and remained on the pitch for 84 minutes.
With this defeat, Rangers remain on 59 points in the league, while Motherwell increased their points tally to 37.
The Scottish side will travel to face Fenerbahçe on Thursday in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16. After a bye week in the league, Rangers will host Fenerbahçe in Glasgow for the return leg on March 13. Meanwhile, Motherwell will face St. Mirren at home next week.
