Comments on Mourinho from Okan Buruk!
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk made notable remarks regarding Jose Mourinho's departure from Fenerbahçe. Buruk stated that the Portuguese coach's comments accelerated the separation.
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk commented on Fenerbahçe's parting of ways with Jose Mourinho during his statements on NOW TV.
Buruk noted that the experienced coach's remarks, particularly those made before the return leg against Benfica, were effective in accelerating this process.
Okan Buruk used the following expressions regarding the matter:
“It was not a surprise in the final week. He wanted to leave because of the final week. As a coach, when you see those statements, you can see that he wanted to leave, so it was not a surprise. If he had left without those statements, it would have been a surprise.”
“AN IMPORTANT COACH”
Underlining that Mourinho is a very special figure for world football, Buruk made the following assessment:
“He is an important coach. We became champions the previous year. We beat Fenerbahçe twice at their home. These are things that happen in football, but he is an important coach. You would count his name in the top 3 as a coach, but if you ask whether he is at his former success level or as good as he used to be, you can see he is not in that situation. If he were in that situation, he wouldn't be in Turkey anyway. He is a very important coach. He was an important coach who managed and planned everything. Such a coach passed through our country. Winning a championship against him is important for me.”
