Criminal complaint against Ahmet Çakar: 'I will pay you if Tayyip Erdoğan calls'

Former referee and commentator Ahmet Çakar stated in a post on his social media account on August 22, 2025, "Dear friends, as of this moment, I have left the BTV YouTube channel at the request of the channel owner; the worst part is that I do not forgive him for what is owed to me. I leave it only to God."

CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST AHMET ÇAKAR BY BİŞAR ÖZBEY

Bişar Özbey, the owner of the BTV channel, announced that he has filed a criminal complaint against Ahmet Çakar.

The statement made by Özbey on social media is as follows:

I AM FILING A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST AHMET ÇAKAR FOR FRAUD…

We had an agreement with Ahmet Çakar to work on the BTV YouTube channel for 3 programs per week until May 31, 2026.

This agreement included an exclusivity clause. In other words, Ahmet Çakar would not broadcast on any other YouTube channel until the relevant date.

First, on August 8, 2025, he started a program on the A Spor YouTube channel without our knowledge.

When we asked him about it, he responded with a tone like, "WHO ARE YOU, DO I HAVE TO ASK YOU?"

Afterward, I was called by Tolga Kabataş, the owner of the YouTube channel called Neospor, for him to work there once a week.

I informed him that we had minor issues with Ahmet Çakar and that it might be possible if we resolved them. However, without our approval, he started doing a program on the Neospor channel as well.

When I asked Ahmet Çakar about this situation and received a similar response, I told him that we could not work with him under these conditions and that he should return the ONE YEAR OF SALARY he had received in advance.

He said he would not return the money and, using a mafia-like tone, told me to do whatever I knew best.

Although I involved many of our mutual friends over the past 20 days, I could not establish direct communication with him.

When we sat down today, 20 days later, I received a mocking response that I had difficulty understanding the content of: "I WILL PAY YOU IF TAYYİP ERDOĞAN CALLS."

At this point, I see that he actually deceived me and took a year's salary in advance, even though he already had an ongoing broadcast schedule with both the A Spor YouTube channel and Neospor.

I respectfully inform the public that I am filing a criminal complaint against him for both fraud and breach of trust due to service, and that I will also file a lawsuit for material damages.
