Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made striking remarks regarding his future at the English club, which is currently going through a difficult period.
Having failed to secure a win in their last 6 matches, City is experiencing a turbulent phase in the Premier League, the Champions League, and the League Cup.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the Liverpool match, Guardiola openly addressed the possibility of leaving Manchester City despite his new 2-year contract.
The 53-year-old manager recalled his time leaving Barcelona, stating, "I was at Barcelona, the club where I was born. I won 14 trophies in 4 years. I worked with legendary players like Messi, Xavi, and Iniesta. Everyone asked why I left such a team. My answer was simple: Because that's how I felt. If I feel the same way at City, I won't hesitate to leave."
'I CANNOT STAY WHERE I FEEL I AM THE PROBLEM'
Guardiola noted that success and his contract have no impact on his future, adding, "I am not here just for what I have achieved. I will not stay in a place where I feel I am the problem. My chairman knows this too. I asked him to give me the chance to turn things around. It is easy to leave when things are going well, but I don't want to leave right now. Because I still think I have work to do."
