Referee discussions continue ahead of the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby, which will take place in the 25th week of the Süper Lig.
While uncertainty persists over whether the referee to be assigned to the derby will be domestic or foreign, former referee Bünyamin Gezer made noteworthy remarks.

WHO WILL REFEREE THE DERBY?
Speaking to TRT Spor, Bünyamin Gezer stated, "If the derby referee is Turkish, it will be either Halil Umut Meler or Atilla Karaoğlan."

'HALIL UMUT MELER DOES NOT WANT TO REFEREE THE DERBY'
Stating that Halil Umut Meler does not want to referee the derby, Gezer expressed, "Even though Halil Umut Meler's name is at the forefront, I also know that he does not want to referee the derby."

'MEHMET TÜRKMEN COULD NOT PASS THE FIFA RUNNING TEST'
Sharing his views on Mehmet Türkmen as well as Atilla Karaoğlan, Bünyamin Gezer said, "Mehmet Türkmen is a very young referee, very prone to making mistakes. I would not assign him to such a derby and throw him into the fire. He has potential, but we have not yet seen that spark in him. Furthermore, information has come in that Mehmet Türkmen could not pass the FIFA running test."
