Details shared about former Sivasspor player Robinho's prison life

40-year-old former Brazilian footballer Robinho was arrested in Brazil due to rape charges.

'The Sun' newspaper reported that Robinho is taking a 600-hour basic electronics course in prison.

It was stated that the course is part of a prison work program designed by the Universal Institute of Brazil to teach inmates new skills in preparation for their future release.

"IT IS HARD TO SAY IF HE LIKES IT OR NOT, BUT..."

Robinho's lawyer Mario Rosso Vale said, "It is hard to say if he likes it or not, but it helps him pass the time."

Robinho, who wore the Brazilian national team jersey 100 times and earned more than 70 million Euros throughout his career, will be able to repair televisions, radios, and other appliances in prison after this course.

Robinho's lawyer Mario Rosso Vale confirmed in a statement to Ryan Parry that the former footballer has been a model prisoner since entering jail in March and used the following expressions:

"Robinho keeps his head down and is moving forward calmly. He is being a model prisoner and has had no problems with other inmates."

The lawyer revealed that Robinho was given a pair of football boots so he could participate in small games organized in the prison.

HE WAS SENTENCED TO 9 YEARS IN PRISON

The Brazilian player, who wore the jerseys of Santos, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Milan, Guangzhou Evergrande, Atletico Mineiro, Sivasspor, and Başakşehir throughout his career, was sentenced to 9 years in prison for his involvement in a 'gang rape' act in Milan in 2013.

Robinho's friend Claytinho had stated, "We had a group sex party and we did it with everyone's consent. Rapists should rot in prison, but Robinho is not a rapist."
