Doğuş Balbay Appointed as "Americas Player Representative" at TBF

Doğuş Balbay, who achieved significant success while playing for Anadolu Efes for many years, announced his retirement from his basketball career in December 2023.

According to the statement made by the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF), Balbay will monitor the development and performance of Turkish athletes at the youth and senior team levels in the U.S. on behalf of the federation, reporting to the national teams department.

TBF President Hidayet Türkoğlu stated that they prioritize working with competent individuals from within the basketball community, adding, "With the addition of Doğuş Balbay to our team, our pool for the national teams will be further enriched by our talented players abroad. We aim to establish closer contact with our national athletes who are continuing their careers or education in the U.S. I believe that Doğuş Balbay will contribute greatly to our national teams with his knowledge and experience."

Expressing his excitement about taking on a role at the TBF, Doğuş Balbay said, "I am very happy to serve the national team, whose jersey I wore as an athlete, now as a professional administrator. In line with the needs of our national teams, I will closely follow our athletes who are continuing their sports careers or education in the U.S."
